Sundaram Finance Limited: Q3 FY 2018-19 Key Points
Sundaram Finance Limited, a part of the TVS Group companies, has reported its Q3 FY 2018-19 numbers today!
The Company’s total Income for the Q3 ended 2018 increased 17 percent to INR 860 Cr from INR 733 Cr registered in the same period the previous year.
The company registered a Net Profit of INR 157 Cr for the Q3 ended 31st December 2018 as compared to INR 161 Cr registered in the corresponding quarter the previous year, showing a marginal dip of 2.48% YoY basis.
Sundaram Finance Ltd., has registered a 6% increase in Net Profit at INR 452 Cr for the “nine months” ended 31st December 2018 as compared to INR 426 Cr registered in the corresponding period the previous year.
Asset Under Management (AUM) as at 31st December 2018 increased 14% to INR 28102 Cr as compared to INr 24555 Cr registered as at 31st December 2017.
The Board of Sundaram Finance Ltd., declared an interim dividend of INR 5 per share (50%)

Sundaram Finance Limited (SFL) was promoted by Madras Motors and General Insurance Company, a part of the reputed TVS Group.
HIstory: Sundaram Finance was established in 1954 by Sri T. S. Santhanam, the Founder, who envisioned the future of hire-purchase finance in India. It became a public limited company in the year 1961 and went public in 1972.
Business: The main business of the company includes hire purchase and lease financing of (1) commercial vehicles, (2) cars, and (3) machinery. It also undertakes short-term activities such as bill discounting and commercial mortgage lending.

Today, the company has a diversified presence in Mutual Funds, Housing Finance, General Insurance, IT, Business Process Outsourcing and Retail Distribution of a wide array of financial services and products.
Presence: The Company has a nation-wide presence of nearly 640 branches, over 2 lakh depositors and 3 lakh commercial vehicle and car finance customers.
